Support groups help individuals to connect with others who are going through similar experiences and help each other in overcoming these difficulties and challenges. All support groups at Healing Studio are led by qualified licensed Clinical Psychologists.

Bibliotherapy and Cinema therapy or movie therapy is a form of expressive therapy – like art, music and dance therapy – for mental health issues. Cinema therapy can be a catalyst for healing and growth for those who are open to learning how movies affect people and to watching certain films with conscious awareness. Cinema therapy allows one to use the effect of imagery, plot, music, etc. in films on the psyche for insight, inspiration, emotional release or relief and natural change. We meet as a group and discuss particular films and books, what it means to us and what we make of them, what it evokes in us.

Philosophical Cafe

A weekly philosophical discussion which helps to clarify, articulate, explore and comprehend philosophical aspects of one’s belief systems or world views. We meet as a group and explore philosophical problems related to matters such as mid-life crises, career changes, stress, emotions, assertiveness, physical illness, death and dying, aging, meaning of life, and morality. We discuss questions like – “What is love?”, “What is the purpose of life?”, “What is a good life?”. We use Socratic dialogue as a formal method by which a small group (5-10 people), guided by a facilitator, finds a precise answer to a universal question (e.g. “What is happiness?”, “What is integrity?”, “What is moral?”, “Can conflict be fruitful?”, etc.).

You will need a high speed internet connection, safe silent space and good quality headphones. Many clients get used to the technology within few sessions.

You will have to fill a small interest form to show your interest to be part of support groups or group therapy, after which we will schedule a brief interview with you to assess if you are match for the support groups.
