Philosophical Cafe

A weekly philosophical discussion which helps to clarify, articulate, explore and comprehend philosophical aspects of one’s belief systems or world views. We meet as a group and explore philosophical problems related to matters such as mid-life crises, career changes, stress, emotions, assertiveness, physical illness, death and dying, aging, meaning of life, and morality. We discuss questions like – “What is love?”, “What is the purpose of life?”, “What is a good life?”. We use Socratic dialogue as a formal method by which a small group (5-10 people), guided by a facilitator, finds a precise answer to a universal question (e.g. “What is happiness?”, “What is integrity?”, “What is moral?”, “Can conflict be fruitful?”, etc.).
